Two studios. Ten years. One complete archive.

This is the full collection — all 6 volumes of Attack on Titan's key animation books, covering every season from the very first episode to the final frame. It is the most complete record of how Attack on Titan was made that any collector can own.

The set spans two distinct eras. WIT Studio's four volumes (Seasons 1–3) document the series at its most raw and expressive — fluid linework, painterly composition, and the hand-drawn intensity that made Attack on Titan a global phenomenon. MAPPA's two volumes (Final Season) document the series at its most cinematic — harder edges, heavier 3DCG integration, and the visual language of an apocalypse. Owning both is owning the full story of the series, not just as a viewer but as an insider.

Over 1,250 pages. Character designs from both studios. Storyboards, genga, x-sheets, 3DCG breakdowns, and commentary from the animators, directors, and production staff who built every episode. The Battle of Trost. The Female Titan arc. Shiganshina. Marley. The Rumbling. The ending. All of it, drawn by hand, reproduced at production size, in your hands.

This is not merchandise. This is the archive.

Vol. 1 — Season 1 Genga Collection

The Origin — WIT Studio

148 pages of original key animation from the season that changed anime. Covers the early episodes including the Colossal Titan's first appearance, the fall of Wall Maria, and humanity's desperate first counterattack. Features pencil-line genga drawings, ground works, timing sheets, rough sketches, and promotional sequence artwork. A rare look into WIT Studio's animation process at the very beginning of the series.

Vol. 2 — Season 2 原画集

The Revelation — WIT Studio

144 pages covering all 12 episodes of Season 2 — the season of shocking betrayals and emotional devastation. Includes key frames from the Beast Titan's debut, the Reiner and Bertholdt revelation, and the brutal final battle. Features character design sheets by chief animator Kyoji Asano, opening sequence artwork, and production staff commentary. Full color, A4 format.

Vol. 3 — Season 3 原画集 Vol. 1

The Uprising — WIT Studio

152 pages from the first arc of Season 3 — the underground political war, Kenny the Ripper, and the Survey Corps' darkest internal conflict. Captures the series' most technically demanding urban ODM gear sequences and close-quarters combat animation. Features color production artwork alongside raw pencil genga frames from some of the most kinetic episodes in the entire series.

Vol. 4 — Season 3 原画集 Vol. 2

The Return to Shiganshina — WIT Studio

The emotional peak of the WIT Studio era. Covers the Battle of Shiganshina, the basement truth reveal, and the deaths that defined the series. Includes key animation from the legendary Levi vs. Beast Titan sequence, the ODM 3D movement genga artbook by animator Arifumi Imai, and the closing frames of humanity's most devastating battle — and its first real victory.

Vol. 5 — The Final Season Part 1 & 2 Key Animation Book

The War — MAPPA

300 pages. The most comprehensive volume in the set. Covers episodes 60–94 — the full MAPPA era from Marley through the War for Paradis. Includes carefully selected key frames from every major episode, full storyboard pages from the Part 2 opening sequence, character design sheets for the Marleyan warriors, a detailed 3DCG production breakdown showing how Titan movement was constructed, and exclusive director commentary from Yuichiro Hayashi and the production team. A technical masterclass in how MAPPA rebuilt the visual identity of the series.

Vol. 6 — The Final Chapters Key Animation Book

The End — MAPPA

The last entry. Documents the key animation from the series' conclusion — The Rumbling, Eren's final transformation, and the last stand of humanity. Features genga from the most emotionally charged sequences in the series: full-scale Rumbling Titan warfare, Mikasa's final moments, and the closing frames of the finale. Includes storyboards, final-form character design sheets, staff farewell commentary, and MAPPA's visual breakdown of how the end of the world was animated.

A genga (原画) is an original key animation frame — the hand-drawn pencil drawing made by a lead animator to define the key poses of a movement before in-between frames are added. These books collect the most significant genga from each season, showing you the raw building blocks of the animation exactly as the animators drew them. It's the closest you can get to owning a piece of the actual production.

Yes, the text (staff comments, production notes, captions) is in Japanese. However, the vast majority of the content — the animation artwork itself — requires no translation. The books are primarily visual, and most collectors and animation fans enjoy them fully regardless of language.

All volumes are A4 format (approximately 8.3" x 11.7") — oversized to reproduce the artwork as close to its original production dimensions as possible. This is the correct format for viewing genga properly.

WIT Studio (Vols. 1–4) is known for its expressive, fluid linework and painterly backgrounds. MAPPA (Vols. 5–6) brought a harder-edged, more cinematic visual style and heavier use of 3DCG. Having both in one collection lets you see exactly how the animation language of the series evolved — making this set as much an animation history document as a collector's item.

The books are most rewarding for fans of the series, but they also stand alone as animation reference material. Many animation students and professionals collect genga books purely for their technical and artistic value, independent of the source series.
